Luna Del Mar : Kaibo

A week and a half ago I was invited to go to Luna Del Mar at Kaibo. It is a monthly event at Kaibo that occurs usually on a full moon. You can get there two ways.

1. The water ferry. This leaves from yacht club a few different times and takes you to kaibo. It is about $25 for the round trip per person
2. If you have access to a boat you can make your own way. It is about a 20 minute boat ride.

The setting is absolutely magical. Lots of lanterns and candle light. There are 4 tables right on the beach where you sit on pillows. I would highly recommend this option.

The absolute highlight of the night were the lanterns. Everyone got to hold a large lantern as the staff lite it. Then you wait for it to heat up enough to fly on it's own and let it go. It was just magical.

I had wrongly assumed the menu was a package deal, meaning you get an appetizer, entree and desert for a set price. The menu is even set up that way. But if you squint hard enough you see there are prices for each. The menu is a la cart. Anyway the food was amazing and the portions were quite large.

All in all I highly recommend this evening activity! The atmosphere was just magical!
