Expat Travel

Being from a place where almost 50% of the population are expats has a lot of upsides. The biggest one is that you become good friends with people from all over the world. That means you have a lot of places to visit!

I just spent a week in Peru because one of my new friends is from Peru and she went home for three weeks. Peru is a very diverse place. We travelled to Cusco for a week. Cusco is a beautiful city in the mountains. I did get a little bit of altitude sickness. Just felt really dizzy and winded but thankfully that passed.

While in Cuzco we visited Machu Picchu.

We also did a lot of tours!

Then we headed back to Lima for three days. Lima is a lot different then Cuzco. It is described as a concrete jungle and it definetly is that!

Also Lima is very cold in the winter, which is the season right now. The temperature is not that low but the humidity makes it feel so much colder. It remindes me a bit of the winters in Vancouver. Because the temperature never reaches below 0 the houses in Lima do not have heating. That makes for some cold mornings!!

The tricky thing about living in the Cayman Islands is customs, as one customs agent put it "You were born in Poland, have a Canadian Citizenship, live in the Cayman Islands and are coming from Peru?"
