I got four of these the night before last. They are from sand flies. Apparently they are anti foreigners meaning we are more susceptible to allergic reaction. They seem to have the same taste as mosquitoes meaning if mosquitos loved you so will the sand flies.. Just have to wear bug spray all the time!
I don't know. In the summer of 2011 I had similar bite marks here in Philadelphia. Now it's 2012 mid March, and as warm weather rolled in i got a brand new one of these. One on my back (which I didn't scratch, so it's just an inch in diameter red bump), and one on my wrist, that I scratched and it puffed up to a hot hard 2" patch, making my wrist double its size. Before 2011 I never had any reaction/allergy to anything let alone mosquito bites
